Nurse and Allied Health Personnel Invited to Join OAS
At their annual meeting in October 2004, the Scientific Advisory Board of
the Ophthalmic Anesthesia Society made an historic decision. The Board created
a membership category for nurses and allied health personnel (especially ophthalmic
technicians, surgical technicians, and others) who work in ophthalmic surgery.
The
members of the society are encouraged to educate their own staff members about
this opportunity to join OAS and to attend our meetings. There are a variety
of subjects that will be addressed by these professionals in the future, including
infection prevention, patient management issues, personnel management issues,
staff education, regulatory issues, marketing issues, and the like. We hope
that each member of OAS can encourage several staff members to participate
by becoming associate members of OAS.
